In keeping with the JCD festive spirit, we are easing our customers into 2022 with a bottle or 2 of new year cheer. Keep your eyes peeled for the JCD beer van, heading your way soon!

Every year we try our best to give our clients a little something extra special for their Christmas gifts and this year we are pretty pleased with our creation! Using a local brewery to Jonathan and Caroline, Pumphouse Community Brewery Limited, we have concocted 3 superior special ales – of course, they have been named to reflect our industry! Unfortunately, our delivery didn’t get quite get to us in time for Christmas delivery so our beers will be helping our Clients ease into the new year.

Beer names:

  1. ADSL ALE – 19 elms 4.3% beer 
  2. BITMAP BITTER – Allied amber 3.8% bitter 
  3. ARCHIVE ALE – St Margaret’s – 3.8% golden beer

Pumphouse is owned by more than 80 individuals. Aaron Osborne is responsible for production, but the rest of the day-to-day running is undertaken by a group of volunteers.

Pumphouse is run on a democratic basis, each member having one vote at members’ meetings, irrespective of the number of shares they hold.

The brewery was established as a not-for-private-profit company. As such, any surpluses achieved can only be used for reinvestment in the brewery or for distribution to the broader community.

ADSL ALE

This dark amber ale has been brewed specially to mark the planting of 19 elm trees in Toppesfield in memory of the 19 young men of the village who gave their lives during World War I.

BITMAP BITTER

  1. Alcohol percentage: Allied amber ABV 3.8% bitter 
  2. 500ml and that it is produced by Pumphouse Community Brewery
  3. Best before date: 06.12.2022
  4. Ingredients:- Water, hops, barley, yeast.
  5. ALLERGENS:- GLUTEN

Created to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. It is a smooth, easy-drinking traditional bitter, made with chocolate, pale and wheat malts and WGV hops. Amber in colour and with malty and biscuit flavours.

ARCHIVE ALE

  1. Alcohol percentage: St Margaret’s ABV 3.8%
  2. 500ml and that it is produced by Pumphouse Community Brewery

  4. Ingredients:- Water, hops, barley, yeast.
  5. ALLERGENS:- GLUTEN

First produced in autumn 2017, this light-coloured ale is based on lager malt with some wheat. Bobek is the single hop used to make this light and refreshing beer.
